Executive Director
As the Executive Director of the Baptist Foundation of Illinois, Doug Morrow directs the planning and implementation of the organization’s mission to cultivate stewardship and generosity among roughly 150,000 Illinois Baptist individuals and institutions. With over thirty years of experience in Christian estate planning and fundraising management, Doug has a proven background that includes serving in residential care facilities and holding leadership roles within a national consulting firm that advised various non-profit organizations.
Additionally, Doug serves as the Pastor of Together Church on North Grand in Springfield, IL. Committed to reaching its community for Christ, this church is currently experiencing a period of growth. In addition to undergoing extensive campus renovations, the congregation is utilizing the Everyone Hears model for church and community development..
Before joining BFI, Doug built a diverse background in integrated development, communications strategy, capital campaigns, and board development. His previous leadership roles include serving as Vice President for Advancement at Bethesda Home for Boys, Director of Development & Communications for Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services in Illinois, and Campaign Administrator for Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children.
Doug has also served as pastor of the Corinth Baptist Church, the Central Baptist Church, and the Dixon Springs Baptist Church.
Doug graduated cum laude from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky, and earned a Master of Theological Studies from the Billy Graham School of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he was a recipient of the SBTS' Presidential Scholarship. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1986 to 1991, graduating as an honor graduate from the Army's medical specialist course at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. In 2025, Doug achieved Certified Estate Planner (CEP) accreditation through the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners (NICEP).
Doug and his wife Kim (married in 1989) have three children: Lauren, Reed, and Claire. All three children have served or are currently serving in various active duty branches of the US Military. Kim and Doug reside in Athens, Illinois. His memberships include the Sangamon Valley Estate Planning Council and the Southern Baptist Foundation CEO Fellowship.
Baptist Foundation of Illinois is a non-profit member organization of the Illinois Baptist State Association, an association of approximately 1,000 Southern Baptist churches in Illinois. BFI operates under a twenty-one member Board of Trustees who are elected each year by the Illinois Baptist State Association itself.
